Why teams use Groundbook

What your program gains

01

Hub inventory, safely stored

Rack heights, mezzanine framing, and the sprinkler design are checked against each other on every hub before parts go on the shelves.

02

Conversions without hidden scope

Existing buildings are compared with the new store set, so demolition, sprinkler, and electrical service questions surface before pricing.

03

One standard across every state

Every store set is checked against your prototype and the code where it is built, whichever architect drew it.

AI plan review for auto parts retailers compares each store's drawings with one another, with the specifications, with your prototype and store standards, and with the building and fire code that applies at the site. Groundbook flags possible conflicts and gaps, each linked to the sheet it came from, so your construction team and the architect of record can settle them before the set goes to permit or bid.

How it gets there

Common checks for auto parts retail

Each row is a place where the documents for one site often disagree. The review compares them and returns each possible conflict with the sheets it came from.

AreaWhat is comparedA question a finding raises
Racking and mezzaninesParts racking heights, mezzanine framing, and stairs against the structural and architectural sheetsDoes the mezzanine on the fixture plan appear on the structural sheets with a framing plan and a design live load for parts storage?
Storage and sprinklersRack layout and storage height against the sprinkler design basis and commodity classificationDoes the hub store's racking rise above the storage height listed in the sprinkler design notes?
Used oil and batteriesUsed-oil tank, battery storage, and collection area against containment details, ventilation, and fire code notesIs secondary containment detailed for the used-oil collection tank, and does the tank sit where the floor plan shows it?
Counters and equipmentSales counters, commercial counter stations, and testing equipment against the power and data plansDoes the battery and electrical testing station on the fixture plan have a dedicated circuit on the power plan?
AccessibilitySales counter heights, aisles between gondolas, restrooms, and the accessible route from parking against the accessibility code at the siteDoes the plan show a lowered section at the sales counter, and do aisles between gondolas keep the required clear width?
Site and accessSite plan, delivery vehicle parking, trash and recycling enclosures, and stormwater against the civil setDo the trash enclosure and used-oil pickup area on the site plan line up with the truck access shown on the civil sheets?

Where Groundbook fits

01

Set up the store standard

Upload the current prototype, fixture standards, and your design criteria once. Every store and hub set is checked against them.

02

Check the set before permit

Run a review when the architect issues a store set. Findings come back in 20 minutes to 24 hours, each tied to a sheet.

03

Compare a relocation

Overlay the new store plan on the prototype or on the store it replaces with Smart Overlay to see what moved.

04

Close the findings

Assign each finding to the architect or engineer of record, keep the comments in one place, and export a report or Bluebeam markups.

Enterprise

Built to roll out across a program

The review is the same on every plan. Enterprise changes how you buy it, sign in, connect it, and get help.

Questions, answered

What program teams ask

Can Groundbook review a hub store with mezzanine storage?

Yes. Upload the full set, including the racking or fixture plan and the structural and fire protection sheets. The review compares storage heights, mezzanine framing, and the sprinkler design notes across those sheets and flags where they disagree.

We convert existing buildings. Does that work?

Yes. Include the existing-conditions drawings or survey with the new store set. Groundbook checks the new work against what the set shows as existing and flags demolition, sprinkler, and electrical service questions at the boundary.

How is pricing set for a program with many sites?

Programs reviewing 500 or more projects a year get volume pricing. Smaller programs can buy prepaid credits for up to 15% off. Every review shows its exact price before you pay, and the first project is free.

Does Groundbook replace the architect of record or plan check?

No. Groundbook surfaces possible issues with links to their sources. The architects and engineers of record, your own team, and the authority having jurisdiction remain responsible for every decision.

Where is our project data stored?

On AWS in the United States by default, or on-prem for programs that need it, encrypted at rest and in transit. Project data is never used to train models and is visible only to the people you invite. SSO and MFA, an NDA, and security questionnaires are available on request.
