Enterprise plan review for big-box retail

Every store built to your current prototype

For Fortune 500 and national retailers opening and remodeling stores every year. Catch prototype drift, fixtures with no power, and local code gaps while they are still markups, not field fixes, change orders, or a slipped opening date.

Why teams use Groundbook

What your program gains

01

Store 300 matches store one

Several architects adapt the same prototype to hundreds of sites. Each set is checked against the current release, so an old checkout bank or fixture package never reaches the field.

02

Prototype changes land everywhere

When the prototype changes mid-year, every store set still in design is checked against the new version, and the stores that missed it show up as findings.

03

Openings stay protected

Conflicts settled before permit and bid are ones your contractor never has to price, RFI, or fix in the weeks before a grand opening.

AI plan review for big-box retailers is a first-pass check of each store's drawings against each other, the project manual, your prototype and design standards, and the building code where the store is built. Groundbook returns possible conflicts and missing information with links to the exact sheets, so your construction team, the architect of record, and the general contractor can resolve them before permit and bid.

How it gets there

Common checks for big-box retail

Each row is a place where the documents for one site often disagree. The review compares them and returns each possible conflict with the sheets it came from.

AreaWhat is comparedA question a finding raises
Prototype conformanceSite-adapted floor, fixture, and finish plans against the current prototype and design criteriaDoes the checkout bank in this store match the current prototype, or a superseded version?
Fixture and equipment powerFixture and equipment plans against power, data, and low-voltage plansDo the self-checkout kiosks and pharmacy equipment on the fixture plan all have receptacles and data drops?
Refrigeration and groceryRefrigerated case lineups against refrigeration piping, floor sinks, trenching, and circuitsDoes every case lineup on the fixture plan have an indirect-waste floor sink and a circuit at the rack?
Fire protection and storageStockroom and sales-floor storage heights against the sprinkler design basisIs the stockroom racking taller than the storage height the sprinkler design assumes?
Accessibility and egressCheckout lanes, restrooms, fitting rooms, and exits against the accessibility and egress code at the siteDoes the number of accessible checkout lanes meet the requirement for the lanes shown?
Site and civilSite plan, parking, and pickup areas against the civil set, truck routes, and the receiving dockDo the order-pickup stalls on the architectural site plan match the striping and signage on the civil sheets?

Where Groundbook fits

01

Load the prototype once

Upload the current prototype set and your design criteria. They become the references every store set is checked against.

02

Review each store set

When an architect issues a store set, run a review before permit. Findings arrive in 20 minutes to 24 hours, each linked to its sheet.

03

Overlay what changed

Lay the store plan over the prototype plan with Smart Overlay. Red is the store, blue the prototype, and black is on both.

04

Route and track

Assign findings to the architect or engineer of record, comment, and export a report, marked-up drawings, or Bluebeam markups.

From a published review

A review of a 64-page neighborhood grocery renovation returned 47 potential findings across five disciplines, several from checking the drawings against the scheduled equipment data.

Enterprise

Built to roll out across a program

The review is the same on every plan. Enterprise changes how you buy it, sign in, connect it, and get help.

Predictable cost at any volume

Volume pricing for programs reviewing 500 or more projects a year, or prepaid credits for up to 15% off. Every review shows its price before you pay.

A fast yes from IT and legal

SSO and MFA, an audit trail, granular access levels, and on-prem or US hosting. Encrypted, never used to train models, and an NDA on request.

Findings where your teams already work

Import from Autodesk Construction Cloud (including Revit sheets), SharePoint, Egnyte, ProjectWise, Box, and more, and send findings into your own systems with the REST API, CLI, or a custom integration.

Questions, answered

What program teams ask

Can Groundbook check a store set against our prototype?

Yes. Upload the prototype drawings and your design criteria or standards manual as reference files with the store set. The review flags where the store drawings disagree with them, and Smart Overlay lines up a store plan with the prototype plan so you can see every change.

Who on a retail program uses it?

Construction and design managers on the retailer's team, the architects and engineers who adapt the prototype, and the general contractors who price the work. Everyone invited to a project sees the same findings, and there is no per-seat fee.

How is pricing set for a program with many sites?

Programs reviewing 500 or more projects a year get volume pricing. Smaller programs can buy prepaid credits for up to 15% off. Every review shows its exact price before you pay, and the first project is free.

Does Groundbook replace the architect of record or plan check?

No. Groundbook surfaces possible issues with links to their sources. The architects and engineers of record, your own team, and the authority having jurisdiction remain responsible for every decision.

Where is our project data stored?

On AWS in the United States by default, or on-prem for programs that need it, encrypted at rest and in transit. Project data is never used to train models and is visible only to the people you invite. SSO and MFA, an NDA, and security questionnaires are available on request.
