A practical workflow

From the first pass to a decision

  1. Include the current reports

    Upload the issued reports, calculations, and analyses that the drawings rely on. Set their file type to Report or Calculations and their role to “Use as reference”. State in the instructions which report criteria matter most for this milestone.

  2. Compare the criterion with the drawing

    Open the finding to view the report statement and the sheet, detail, or schedule it applies to. Confirm that both describe the same condition and edition.

  3. Route the difference to its owner

    Send report-versus-drawing differences to the responsible engineer or consultant, record the decision, and update every sheet and note that carries the criterion.

Which reports can Groundbook review with the drawings?

Any PDF report or calculation that states criteria for the design: geotechnical reports, structural calculations, energy compliance documents, acoustic studies, code analyses, surveys, and existing-conditions reports.

Does it check the calculations themselves?

No. It checks whether the values and recommendations the reports state are reflected consistently in the drawings and notes. Verifying the calculations remains with the engineer of record.

Should reports be checked files or references?

Usually references. Mark the drawings as the files to check and the reports as supporting context, so findings ask whether the drawings follow the report rather than the reverse.
